    TECHNICAL ADVISOR

    CEO, Sunview Group Berhad

    Ong is solar pioneer and leader in Malaysia. He is the CEO of Sunview Group Berhad, a leading Malaysian Solar EPCC with a market capitalisation of RM392 million and a 9MFY2023 revenue of RM207 million. He holds 500MW (RM1.5 billion GDV) of solar technical and commercial experience across Malaysia, India, Thailand, Australia, the Philippines and Cambodia.

    Ong is a committee member of the University of Malaya's Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC), a Certified member of the Malaysian Board of Engineers and also locally (Malaysia) solar accredited, holding a Grid Connected Photovoltaics (GCPV) certification.

    He is also global-standard solar engineering certified - he holds an Institute for Sustainable Power Quality (ISPQ) certification.

  • Ir. Chong Chew Fan

    President, Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM)

    Ir. Chong has more than 19 years of experience covering design, contract administration, project management and consultancy works within the segments of renewable energy, infrastructure and building-works. His extensive experience within the space of sustainability include solar PV construction, power systems studies and sustainability design projects for certified Green Buildings. He is also involved in the development of townships, offices, commercial buildings, mixed developments, water and wastewater treatment plants, highways, roads and railway projects.

    He is a highly qualified and Professional Engineer with a Practising Certificate from the Malaysian Board of Engineers (BEM), a Registered Electrical Energy Manager (REEM) with the Energy Commission of Malaysia, an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE), a Green Building Index Facilitator (GBIF), and an Honorary Member of ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (AFEO), among other professional affiliations. He has also been called upon by and works closely with the Malaysian Department of Standards (DSM) to develop nation-wide standards.

  • Richard Wong

    BOARD OF ADVISOR

    Founder & Master Mentor, Vistage Malaysia & Singapore

    Richard, who holds two business degrees from Australia and has worked in senior finance positions in various industries, left Nylex Malaysia in June 1994 after 18 years with the group to establish Vistage Malaysia (then TEC Asia Centre). He was the Managing Director/Group CEO of Nylex and played a vital role in introducing the Adizes collaborative leadership methodology to the group. Under his leadership, Nylex achieved several awards and grew its sales from RM20 million to over RM500 million.

    In 1996, Richard was approached to turn around a large glove manufacturing company with global subsidiaries, and he successfully doubled its annual sales and increased profits fourfold from 1997-2000. Currently, Richard serves as the Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee for Scientex Berhad and Khind Holdings Berhad. He was honored with the 2017 Don Cope Award by Vistage Worldwide for his selfless service to Vistage members and the community and is now recognized on the Vistage 'Hall of Fame.'

  • (Dr) Lee Cheong Chee

    Lee has 30 years of working experience in the semiconductor industry. His last position was as President and Managing Director of Infineon Technologies, the largest manufacturing site in Melaka, which houses about 9,000 employees.

    He also served as the General Manager of NXP Semiconductor (Seremban) for approximately 2 years. Prior to working in NXP, he worked in American company, National Semiconductor, where he started his career as an engineer soon after graduation and progressed to be the site Managing Director in Melaka. From 2004 till 2009, he was assigned to start up a new factory in China (Suzhou) for National Semiconductor.

    CC Lee is a graduate of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, USA, with a major in Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering in 1988. He obtained a Master in Business (MBA) from University of Strathclyde, UK in 2003. He was conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering by UTeM in November 2017.

  • Professor Ir. Dr. Nasrudin Bin Abdul Rahim

    Founder and Director, UM Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre

    Professor Dr. Nasrudin is the Founder and Director of the UM Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC), one of the ten nationally acclaimed Higher Institutions’ Centre of Excellence (HICoE) of the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE). He is also the Chairman of the University of Malaya Advanced Engineering & Technology (AET) Research Cluster.

    His professional advice and consultancy has been sought by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water Malaysia (KeTTHA); Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia (MOSTI); SIRIM; Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB); Board of Engineers Malaysia; Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia; Prestigious Discovery; and OYL; among others. He was the Leader for the RM 2.4 million Malaysian Building Integrated Photovoltaic (MBIPV) project that produced the first Made-in-Malaysia grid-connected PV inverter. He was the first recipient of the AUNSEED-Net research grant in 2002. His research with M S Elevators produced an award winning 7.5kW elevator motor VVVF drive system, bagging the 2008 MAMPU award for joint research between university and industry. He holds a patent for a single-phase multi-string five-level grid-connected PV inverter and is awaiting the approval of two others.

    Professor Dr. Nasrudin Abd Rahim holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering (UiTM, Malaysia), BSc (Hons) Degree in Electrical Engineering & MSc in Power Engineering (both from University of Strathclyde, UK), and PhD from Heriot-Watt University, UK. He became a Chartered Engineer in 2000 and was promoted to Professor in 2003. He is a Fellow in the Institution of Engineering Technology (FIET) and Academy of Sciences Malaysia (FASM). He is also an Adjunct Professor in the King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE).

  • Karl Fredericks

    Director, Thinkat Advisory

    Mr Fredericks career spans 27 years in the field of corporate advisory and finance. He is a founding member and principal of Thinkat Advisory Sdn Bhd, a licensed corporate advisory firm specialising in restructuring, mergers & acquisitions and IPOs.

    He was working in investment banking for close to 20 years with Hong Leong Investment Bank (formerly known as MIMB Investment Bank), Avenue Securities Sdn Bhd, Kuala Lumpur City Securities Sdn Bhd, K&N Kenanga Berhad and Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank. His last position in banking was as head of corporate advisory of Hong Leong Investment Bank. During his tenure in investment banking, he worked on numerous IPOs and M&A exercises in variety of sectors including property development, manufacturing, oil & gas and renewable energy. Prior to establishing Thinkat Advisory Sdn Bhd, he was appointed as corporate head with a listed property company from 2013 - 2017.

    He holds a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science, MBA in Finance and the Corporate Finance Qualification of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Karl passed both SIDC (Securities Commission) examinations for Corporate Finance in 2005.
